New Paint, New Carpet-Looks like a NEW HOUSE!

Bye, bye vomit brown paint!  Helloooooooooo Sloan Manilla!  Bye, bye, nasty, stinky, blagh blue carpet!  Helloooooo Pathfinder!
We did it.  We FINALLY did it!  We couldn't take it any longer.  Duane & I broke down & bought new carpet for our house.  And since we can't get new carpet without updating our puke brown walls, we bought new paint too!  Hip, hip, HORAY!  Oh yeah, those totally outdated valences we had that came with the house-THEY ARE GONE TOO!  HALLELUJAH!
I can''t believe how different, open, crisp & cheerful the house looks!  We should have done it a long time ago!  We still have to do the kitchen, dinning room & entry way.  We only did the living room & hallway in preparation for the new carpet.  Thank goodness I'm off on Sundays!

Super Smart!

After one of the many times of reading to Melanie, I showed Melanie the sign for book & said "When you open a book you open your mind."  Melanie then said "And when you close a book you close your mind."  At the same time as saying that Melanie took my hands in hers to close the book (my hands).

Kyle's Honor Roll

I think I forgot to mention...Kyle only has 1 B-in math. The rest are A's! That means he is SUPER CLOSE to straight A's! With continued improvement, Kyle just may be on next quarter's all A's Honor Roll. SUPER FANTASTIC!

Honor Roll

Oh my GOODNESS! Kyle made the HONOR ROLL! WHOA! Isn't that FANTASTIC!? Apparently there is a "Straight A's" honor roll, and "A's & B's" honor roll. Kyle made the A & B list. Which is TOTALLY FANTASTIC because he has been working his tail off in math to bring up his grade! I beleive he went from a D (almost failing) to a B!!! FABULOUS! I am very impressed by Kyle's desire to get good grades. His drive to succees in school is wonderful. I never had that drive. So I definitly didn't make honor roll & neither did Duane.
Three cheers for KYLE! HIP, HIP, HOORAY!!!

Thanks Mom & Tim for Kyle's new mushroom chair! This is the chair he bought off craigslist with the help of your $5 bucks! Now he can get the full effect of his T.V. shows & video games!

Mini Bananas!

We found these mini bananas at Kroger & just "had to have them"! When we got home Melanie didn't want to have any thing to do with them. She didn't trust them?? We ended up giving a couple to Kate & Lauren, & our neighbor friend Alex & I ate the rest. Geesh! Is Melanie afraid of change or new things? LOL, I hope not!

A Special Time

I think it's really neat when Kyle takes the time to "hang-out" with Melanie. These moments with Kyle reading to & playing with Melanie is very special.

Duane's 31st. Birthday

Oh my gosh...I can NOT believe I forgot to post this! All this time I thought it was there. Sorry people!
This is how we spent Duane's birthday. First, well, I had the day OFF! Horray! We went bowling at a place called Splitsville in Allen. We had 2 FREE PIZZA's, and 2 FREE GAMES of bowling. Sweet deal huh! Totally FUN time! I LOVE YOU DUANE! You are a totally AWESOME husband & dad! I'm glad he's in his thirties now. I don't feel like such a cradle robber! LOL!
Oh & I made Duane's cake! Homeade-NO BOX STUFF! I even made his chocolate frosting! Peanutbutter cake with chocolate frosting! Delicious!

Pancakes

This Sunday I made whole wheat pancakes sweetened with Agave Nectar instead of sugar & used Aluminum FREE baking powder!!!! They were TOTALLY SCRUPTOUS!
