Frisco Discovery Center

Melanie & I went to the Frisco Discovery center. What a COOL place! They had a theme of "Spring & Flowers". There was story time. They read The Boy Who Grew Flowers. Which was a terrific book. Then they had 3 stations; 1. Learning about wind and the children made a wind catcher. 2. Learning about the different parts of a plant & eating them: Melanie got to eat peas in a pod (seeds), carrots ( root), celery (stem), spinach (leaf), and broccoli (flower). 3. Making a sun catcher. After going to all the stations the children got to explore the science activities. There was a water table, levers, pulleys, balancing, germs, molecules, electricity & many more things. They had a giant nose there that would sneeze every few seconds which was very loud & drove Melanie crazy. At the end they gave the children a snack-chocolate pudding (dirt) with gummy worms (worms)! Yuck! But it was FUN! Melanie also received a small bottle of water decorated with flowers & a flowered pen. But her favorite parts were the story time & crafts. This place is really neat. We'll definitely be going back.
