Loose Tooth/Lost Tooth

Melanie recently had a loose tooth. It became reallyloose and she lost it. Literally. It's gone. We have no idea where it is. Although it's general location is known to be in Providence village. Probably either in the pool, at the sandbox, in my sister's car, or in her house. Maybe one day someone will find it & think "Hey! Someone's baby tooth. What a COOL find!" Or they might get grossed out. HA!

Ginger Lemonade

Just 4 ingredients is all you need to make a delicious, refreshing & good for you lemonade! Ginger Root-freshly grated, REAL Lemons, honey. And of course water. This is some serious YUM!

Kyle's 8th. Grade Graduation

I can't believe Kyle has graduated from middle school!!!! He's going to high school. This is CRAZY! Yet, super EXCITING! Great job, Kyle!

The Prettiest Weed

Isn't this the prettiest weed you ever saw? Melanie adores it! It's in our neighbors yard & when it was time for Kyle to mow it, Melanie asked if he could mow around it. He didn't. But it grew back! YAY!

Pickling Cucumbers & Pickling Garlic

Duane & Melanie helping to slice the cucumbers for pickling. Duane helping to fill the jars with cucumbers, jalapenos, dill & garlic. Duane helping to peel the garlic. Beautiful garlic fresh from McKinney's local Farmer's Market. Yummy garlic filled with Apple Cider vinegar for a tasty treat in about 2 months! This garlic is being pickled in the sun for 4 weeks. Then I will drain a small amount of the juice & add honey. Let it sit for another 4 weeks and then we'll get to ENJOY! I'm so excited-I can not wait.

Cutting Cucumbers for Pickling

Sylvia enjoying Melanie helping in the slicing process. This is Melanie's first attempt at slicing in the kitchen. Paul & Sylvia showed us how to pickle cucumbers for pickles. They came out SUPER delicious. They were so good we ate them all! Just this past weekend Duane & I made another batch. We can't wait to try those.

Kitchen Chopper

Melanie is starting to become very interested in helping in the kitchen. I love how she listens to instruction & isn't afraid. Don't mind those dirty nails! HA! I promise, she DID wash her hands before cutting. She even does tastes tests-just like any good chef.
