Summer Inch Worming (8-23-17)
At 6 months Summer is inch worming to get a toy. She is really working hard to get this cup. LOL! I can't believe how fast she is developing.
Summer Rocking (8-23-17)
At 6 months Summer is on the verge of crawling! Watch how she gets into hands and knee and rocks. The development of an infant is astounding. When you have a child with Down Syndrome that takes YEARS to do something as monumental as crawling its absolutely miraculous to see your other children accomplish it. You definitely do NOT take it for granted anymore.

Summer is ALREADY Trying to Crawl (8-23-17)
At 6 months Summer is already on the verge of crawling. She gets on her hands and knees to rock, she inch worms to grab things that are out of reach, she can tolerate standing. WHEW! This girl is on the fast track!

Sean Pulling to Stand at the Coffee Table (August 10, 2017)
During one of our Physical Therapy sessions we were trying to come up with different ways of getting Sean interested in pulling to stand. We found a few good books and a little musical toy & placed them on the coffee table-a place Sean avoids. But he did it! He sat in his little yellow chair, grabbed ahold of the table top and pulled! HOORAY! He even sat back down without a fuss! AWESOME. Just awesome.
Kyle's LAST First Day of School (8-22-2017)
OH MY GOSH...Can you believe he is a senior in high school? Where has the time gone? I remember taking Kyle to kindergarten and volunteering in his classroom. I remember all of his "First Days" of school. WOW. Amazing how fast a child grows, matures and prepares for life away from his family. You're going to have a great year Kyle. You are smart, you are capable and you are a hard worker. We are proud of you and we love you!

Melanie's First Sleep Over (August 7)
Melanie had her first sleepover with her BFF Jadyn...(FINALLY)!!! She had such a great time. They got to stay up til 10 o'clock PM! WHOA! LOL! Melanie was so excited to get the ok from us that she could sleep over with a friend. We had to wait until Melanie stopped sleeping with us, stayed in her own bed, and stopped being suspicious about the dark. All of those things finally came together and she has been rewarded. Jadyn has since spent the night with us! :-)

Happy 18th. Birthday Kyle!!!!!! (July 29)
WHAT??? Kyle is 18 (EIGHTEEN)!!!!! When did he grow up? It's crazy to me that I've been a mother for 18 years. Once he's out of high school-he's an adult. Doesn't that just blow your mind? This year Kyle will VOTE. He is old enough to vote. THAT blows my mind. Where has the time gone? Kyle is AWESOME. He's a really nice young man. He's smart, sweet, responsible, productive, hardworking, articulate, motivated. He's of great character. I am so proud and so blessed to be this young man's mama.

Summer Started Maneuvering (July 29)

Sean and Summer Swinging (July 18)
Sean's original swing is the one Summer is in. Melanie and I went on a walk to Lori's house one morning and found this totally perfect condition bucket swing laying next to someone's trashcan at the street. I immediately inspected the swing (perfect) and walked straight to the door and asked if the swing was being thrown away. She said yes or I could take it, if I wanted it. I grabbed that baby up! It's AWESOME, so perfect for Sean. And he loves it. It's definitely more enjoyable for me as well to be able to push both instead of juggling them either in my arms or when one of them is napping. It's fun to swing together. :-)

Sean Feeds Himself Blueberries (July 14, 2016)
I can't believe Sean FINALLY showed an interest in finger feeding himself. IT's AWESOME! He did such a good job. But I do have to be very careful, because he will just stuff his mouth to the max. He's already given me a few scares with strawberry pieces. We are getting a speech therapist starting next week to help us with feeding. An answered prayer. GOD IS GOOD.

Kyle at Spring Creek Block Competition (July 12, 2016)
I could never work at Spring Creek as a meat cutter. How in the world can he concentrate and hear what they're even asking him to prepare? I couldn't decipher it. Kyle is amazing for doing this competition. Apparently, I don't give his listening skills enough credit. LOL! He did so well. His preparation was good. His timing was good. His weight accuracy was good. Over all presentation was good. He came in second place. He did excellent. It was very late in the evening, 10 PM and all the way in Irving. Even though we toted our littles to the competition, I am so glad I didn't miss this. I am very proud of you Kyle!

FINALLY! Summer Rolls Over...In Front of the Camera
Summer has been rolling over for quite some time, however I could never catch her on camera. I FINALLY did it! She's such a cutie.
Summer Hangs Out (July 12, 2016)
Summer is a handful of fun and moving body parts. She is always on the go. I've started taking apart Sean's high chair and bringing it in the living room where I can keep my eye on her and feed Sean at the same time. I think Sean enjoys the company too.
Sandy Lake Amusement Park (July 7, 2016)
We went to the Down Syndrome Guild's (DSG) annual family picnic for families of Down Syndrome. Such a fun event!
Melanie brought her BFF Jadyn from church. One day Sean will ride the rides and Summer will be his partner. :-)
