Happy Fall
One of my favorite things about Fall is the falling leaves. The color variations are so beautiful. Making a leaf collage is a ton of fun!
The Nina, The Pinta, The Santa Maria
Happy Columbus Day! Although Columbus Day is over we still made these super cute boats! We were supposed to use a walnut shell but I couldn't find any. But over at my sister's house I found these shells-maybe from pecans? Anyhoo worked out just fine! We used small pieces of playdough to hold up our sail & toothpick.

A Father Daughter Moment
Isn't this so sweet?! I love the time that they spend together.
I don't know if Duane knows, but I deeply relish the fact that he is so family oriented. In his eyes (& mine!) our children come first & we really love spending time with them. Who could ask for a better father?
I love the time that they spend together.
Kyle's Cross Country Meet 10-13-12
Go Kyle, GO!!!!! Look at 'em RUN! Isn't he AWESOME?!
Thanks to Rebekah & her family for coming out to support Kyle too! Alex, Melanie & Caden all seemed to share in Kyle's meet, running all over the grass. Maybe they're future runners too?

TEXAS State Fair
I really like going to the fair in TX! It's just a loud, fun, happy experience that you participate in once a year with your family. I LOVE IT. We tried ginormous burgers, fried zucchini & curly fries. We tasted a fried Snickers-DELICIOUS, fried Pecan Pie & a fried Red Velvet cupcake. MMMMMmmmmmm. And the rides were totally FUN! Kyle shows his GREAT Big Brother skills with Melanie by riding all the rides with her & showing her how fun they all are. Kyle also rode the NEW STRATOSPHERE-which are swings WAAAAAAAAY up high in the sky! He also rode a hammer type looking ride that swung UPSIDE DOWN! It was CRAZY watching my son ride those kinds of things!!
Cotton Candy
Although I'm not a big fan of cotton candy I think it was a GREAT treat to try while at the TEXAS State Fair. I haven't had it since I was a kid and it was neat watching Melanie try it for the first time.

Lard Ball Bird Feeder
On the show Wild Kratts we observed the characters making a Lard Ball Bird Feeder-Lard rolled into a ball & over birdseed. We placed the balls in a net bag (onion bag), tied it and hung it in our backyard.
It's a very cool idea. However, the birds aren't eating it. It's just slowly dripping into the grass. LOL! I'm sure they'll like it more as it gets cooler outside.
I found a different idea for a bird feeder. Using an apple. I think we'll try that next.
