Melanie Is Learning to Swim!
Our little Melanie is so brave! The pool has only been up for almost a month and already Melanie has been making progress towards swimming! It first started with her being independently holding on & hanging out on the ladder. Then progressed to dunking her head. Then not holding on to the ladder while her weight was supported against the side of the pool and her feet against the ladder. Then holding on to the side of the pool and shimmying herself all the way around the pool! Then she she just started letting go here & there to see what would happen! Then finally last night she just let go and made her way around the pool towards Duane and Kyle!!!!!! Melanie was SUPER EXCITED!!!! She didn't want to get out of the pool and away from her new found independence!!!

Happy Father's Day, Duane.
Duane, thank you for being a GREAT Dad. Thank you for being an AWESOME Husband. We are super proud to be your wife & kids. Thank you for providing for us everyday by going to work so that I can stay home with our kids. YOU mean so very much to us. We appreciate and love you very much. GOD must have spent more time on you...I don't know anyone with as much devotion, selflessness, determination, love, patience, consideration, and kindness as you. Thank you for being in YOU.
Melanie LOVES Our Pool!
Melanie's "happy place" is hanging out on the ladder. She doesn't want us to hold her because she likes her freedom on the ladder. She's learning how to kick, hold her breath and dunk her head. We're trying to teach her how to move her arms but it's a little difficult to do with the arm floaties. She's very comfortable in the water & is always asking to go in.

Raft Wars!
I can't imagine having 3 boys of my own 24/7. But having these 3 boys hanging out all the time together is so much FUN!
McKinney Firehouse Museum
On Monday we went with our neighborhood playgroup to a McKinney Firehouse! It has a the start of a very neat museum, with items from the mid 1800's! The old time fire truck was from 1931. The pictures of the men on the wall were only a handful of the Fire Capetian's that took care of the city of McKinney. There were old hoses or nozzles. There were old fire hats, lanterns, masks, tool belts, and a couple hose reels that were drawn by horses or pulled by fireman. We saw the "Jaws of Life." The fireman were so nice-they gave us a demonstration by getting dressed in his fire retardant clothing, mask and all! I learned, although it should have been obvious, but, fireman do not use an O2 tank while fighting fires. Why not, you ask? Oxygen EXPLODES! They simply use AIR. Pretty neat, huh? We also got a demonstration of the pole! Kyle & Melanie really enjoyed that! Then we went on a tour of the living quarters. WOW! My tax dollars are hard at work! They have a media room, NOT a living room! They're equipped with a flat screen mounted to the wall, and several Lazy Boy type chairs with cup holders! In the kitchen they have 3 refrigerators and 3 pantry's. One for each shift-A, B, and C. They work one day on, and 2 days off. I wasn't sure the fireman said that right and I asked him twice. That's pretty nice! They have a balcony with picnic tables and a HUGE, fancy BBQ! They have a very equipped weight room, and a basketball court. Our McKinney Fireman are very well taken care of! And in return they seem to take very good care of McKinney! This was an AWESOME experience!
Burger's Lake
This place is AWESOME!!! Last year when we took Kyle for his B-Day he was a little apprehensive to jump off the diving boards, swing from the trapeze, and go down the slides. He did it, but he didn't quite feel comfortable. I can't believe how much Kyle has grown mentally & physically! That boy was non-stop with his buddies! Only stopping by to check in,and eat! I'm glad there's life guards on every section of the lake, those boys were hard to keep up with! We were originally only going to let Kyle bring 1 friend, Ke'ante. Then we added Dylan because his brother Luke was going to Six Flags with a different friend. So on our way down the street, we saw Luke riding his bike around. He looked "bothered" & when he looked at me, I waved. He ignored me! I asked Dylan "What's wrong with your brother?" He said "Oh he's just bored. He's not going to Six Flags anymore." And at that moment since we were headed back home to get an apple for Melanie before she could have a cow, Duane & I said "We can fit him in here right?" We looked around our car and said "He can fit in between Melanie & Kyle!" So Duane talked to his Mom while I grabbed an apple. We all piled in the car again and drove to Burger's Lake. We proceeded to have the best time!! We talked/joked, we swam, we ate burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, fruit, chips, soda, & water! And if all 3 of those boys hadn't come it probably wouldn't have been the same! I highly recommend this lake! http://www.burgerslake.com/

Kyle's 5th. Grade Draduation
Can you believe Kyle will be in middle school next year? Amazing how time has flown! I can remember taking a morning off from school to take him to his first day of Kindergarten.
Kyle's All Star Celebration
Kyle's school held an end of the year pep rally. The 5th. graders performed a dance to a song called "I Have a Feelin'" by the Black Eyed Peas. And at the end some teachers got SLIMED! Very FUN!

Pre-School Melanie
Melanie is learning so much! She knows her alphabet, her numbers, shapes, colors, several spanish words...so many things I can't even name them. Now we are working on writing. She's tracing letters and numbers!
