This is how Melanie & I spend our mid afternoon...after her nap we eat, we play outside, and then Kyle come's home! Then we talk, and play with Kyle & the other kids on our street. Yay!!!!
This BLOG is a window into our life for our family & friends that can't always be with us to see our ever changing world.

Bye, Bye, Tree
Our tree is officially gone. It took 1 dull chain saw, 1 manual saw, 1 electric saw, and 3 men to cut down this tree in 30 minutes. Can you imagine if the tree were bigger? Lol! These guys did a great job. Now we just need to get rid of the stump & plant a new tree. Sounds easy doesn't it? We'll see.

Back To School-5th Grade
Can you believe it's that time of year again? Kyle will be ruling the elementary school-he's in 5th grade this year! They have cut recess for 5th graders to 3 times a week to help them prepare for NO recess in middle school. They have also taken away snack time. I don't know why. When I was in middle school we had a morning break time where we could have a snack. Out in the "real" world people take breaks. I think it's the law. Texas schools are weird. Do they wonder why their flunk out ratios are high? Enough ranting and raving. This is a special time. Kyle is growing, maturing and become more and more independent. He's right on target. He's so smart, giving, caring, and funny! He's turning out to be quite the young man! I'm very proud of him. His teacher's name is Mrs. Cravens. She seems so fun, dedicated, intelligent and structured. I think Kyle will do very well this year.I look forward to volunteering as much as I can. Because pretty soon he won't want me around! Lol! As you can tell in these pictures he was quite annoyed with me!

End of Summer Fun!
Kyle is spending his last few days of Summer having a BLAST! On Sunday he went to Six Flags Magic Mountain with these friends-Dylan & Luke. He had so much FUN! He rode ALL the roller coasters-over & over & over! He was so hyper when he got home & then he just CRASHED! The last couple of days he's been swimming, playing at the park, riding his bike/dirt bike, climbing trees, playing video games, and eating ice cream. It's too bad Summer has to end. It's the best part of the year.
Check out Dylan & Luke. These boys are so good for Kyle and so bad for him all at the same time. They are fearless. They love a challenge, trying new things, rough housing and having fun. They are NEVER bord. They are exactly what "boys" should be. However, they have NO bounderies. They are sweet kids and they all seem to get along. I'm very glad Kyle has them in his life.

Toddler Time
I baby sat my friend's daughter Claire for a little while today. She's 9 months older than Melanie. She is so sweet and cute! Look how much fun they had together...for toddlers they played extremely well. They talked, they shared, they parallel played. They had a good time. I hope they're good friends one day.
Duane & Kyle Painted the House!
It was a race against the clock, due to the weather! But Duane & Kyle painted the exterior of the house on Thursday and Friday! It's amazing what a simple coat of paint can do. Our house is 11 years old and the paint was just flaking off. It was starting to look a little run down. Although we tried to match the new color with the previous, the color seems a little lighter. Giving our house a fresh, clean look. Thank you Duane, & Kyle for helping to keep our house a happy, well kept home
Kyle's 11th. Birthday
It's hard to believe that Kyle is 11 years old, and will be entering into the 5th grade. Where does the time go? We didn't have an official "party" for Kyle due to the weather, and so many of his friends "out" for the Summer. I think he still had a good day. We took him bowling in the morning. Lori, Kate, and Lauren came. that was fun. We went to lunch at KFC-one of Kyle's favorites. We came home, sang "Happy B-Day", had some cake, and played some video games. Kyle got 2 new video games for his Wii. Dance Revolution 2-VERY HARD GAME! And My Sims Racing-very fun go-cart game. After that, we decided to go out to dinner too! Kyle chose "Super Buffet". I new Chinese food restaurant-very good. We've been there one time already where I tried Sushi for the first time! It was Salmon Eggs, sea weed, rice and avocado sprinkled with a spicy sauce. I don't recommend it, but at least I tried it! But, on Kyle's B-Day-the special day that it is, we all tried something NEW & EXCITING! Duane tried a cold seafood type salad with octopus, crab, and shrimp. Kyle & I tried just "regular" octopus. And yes, WE ALL ate octopus on his B-Day! Well, except Melanie! It tasted JUST like CHICKEN! It really did. I was all worked up before I ate it. Then as I chewed it, I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't go looking for octopus to eat, but if it was offered to me, I wouldn't turn it down. Interesting, huh? We had a good day. Kyle's B-Day was very fun. Lots of family time, laughs, and love.
